Book Group Potluck

Book group was potluck this month at Barbara Gaines. Not good for me who started a diet Friday, but I did well. We had a great discussion on The House at Sugar Beach.  One reason I voted to read this book was because it was about Africa, a setting we don’t usually pick. We covered many topics such as social classes, the power of families, and belief systems.

Jane Lancaster was recognized for her theatre work at the recent Portland Drammys. I went to the Drammy's two years ago and had really wanted to go this year. Had I known about Jane, I would have been there for sure. She received one of the recognition certificates presented to 30 Unsung Heroes of Portland theatre.
