Olive for Dinner
My evening book group discussed Olive Kitteridge just as the morning group did a week ago. The turn out was small, but we had a good discussion and a fabulous meal.
Martha and I got there before the others, so I checked out what just came out of the oven. Roasted fall vegetables.
I saw an apple/pear pie on the sideboard. Maxine combined recipes for this delicious result.
Sue, Martha and Jane discussed state AAUW matters. I tried to stay out of that!
We had tender brisket, roasted vegetables and latkas that Linda Stern brought. Homemade, warm apple sauce was later added to my plate. Boy of boy, was everything great.
I don't know if I've ever had apple and pear pie before. Maxine tossed them in because they were getting too ripe. Lucky for us....
