Robert’s Birthday Day

January 10, was Robert’s birthday. Liz and Don Oswalt were to arrive and we would go to dinner and they were going to spend the night, however, Don became sick and so they had to cancel. Our place was nearly in perfect shape. I had the rugs professionally cleaned, got their sheets, and towels ready, but once that call came in, I stopped dusting. Robert and I headed out to do some fun things on our own. We headed oer to LA FItness to check out the new place that opens today for business. I should have taken pictures while we were there, I may be able to manage it. The lockers are made from a beautiful wood. It has a sauna, racquetball courts and volleyball. These things are different from the nearby 24 Hour Fitness.

We managed to find the front door for the new LA Fitness.

This big window looks into the large pool and jaccuzi. Some clients won't like the fact that the office staff and pedestrians can see them walk into the pool I guess everyone will have to suck in their tummys.

As we walked to Fuller's Diner, we found the "new" Ann Sacks tile store. I have read much about her and so we walked inside.

I told Robert he shouldn't shower with his clothes on.

Then we headed to the Museum of Contemporary Art. After seeing the impressive ceramics by Gertrud and Otto Natzler, we got organized and drove to the Fox Tower and saw the movie Milk. I wasn’t going to cry. Geez, I knew how it would end, but I cried anyway. If you haven’t seen it. Go.  I have always been impressed by Sean Penn, but this made us decide to order all his work on Netflix. After the movie, we walked to the always busy Apple store at Pioneer Place where I exchanged some headphones and bought a wireless mouse for my Mac.

My hair is longer now.

Then we changed clothes, had an iChat with Scott, Shana and the kids then walked to 50 Plates for dinner.

The name 50 Plates comes from this artwork and the idea that the small or larger plates cover the states or regions, anyway.

It looks like you had a great day. Bob deserved a day of celebration. Just think, you did all that and you had a clean place because you were expecting company!

Hey, Robert, happy birthday. Only the best people have birthdays in January, so you must be one of those. I hope you didn’t have to eat pork bellies on your birthday, though. YUK!
